Isabel Straw
Isabel Straw is an Emergency Doctor, PhD Candidate in Artificial Intelligence (AI) at University College London, and director of the non-profit bleepDigital. She has a background in public health and policy, having completed her Master’s in Public Health in America and going on to work at the United Nations on the ethics of AI and neurotechnology. In her clinical work she leads a national research project that trains healthcare professionals to respond to patient cases related to digital technology and security failures (e.g., the emergency management of a patient on a hacked ventilator). Her organisation bleepDigital connects a community of clinicians, patient advocates and security researchers, providing educational and research material relating to digital medical syndromes.
