Professionalisation of the Security Testing industry – the wild west is being tamed

• A new collaboration between the UK Cyber Security Council, The Cyber Scheme and CREST aims to professionalise the security testing industry, creating the first opportunity for cyber professionals to become chartered practitioners in the specialism.
• Our corner of the industry is being professionalised and standardised. The Cyber Scheme are at the forefront of changes being made, including the creation of lower-tier assessments to aid entry into the industry.
• We are also launching our initiative The Cyber Challenge, which aims to convince school leavers that a conventional academic route is not the only pathway into security testing.
